Thank you for your question. I am a primary special education teacher, and not a researcher. I would LOVE to have the ability to delve deeply into this topic and actually measure brain growth. At this time, I can only base my answer on the observations that I make in my classroom on a daily basis.
I see my children using strategies to help with emotional control, shifting, inhibition, etc. They have become more aware of their bodies, and how they feel, and will independently use a strategy that allows them to self-regulate and be open to learning. I am measuring strategy use, and observing the effects of those strategies on the learning styles of my students. I have only experienced positive results.
